And the Winner IS... That 1 Guy!

Hungarian! The website is Hungarian. That 1 Guy got it. I am thinking he must hail from the Mid-West as I believe many Hungarians settled there, as opposed to the South. Perhaps I am wrong.

Some background on how I got this website... I know someone who is an actor in LA. This website is some type of movie page. This person stumbled across their name and sent it to a group of us, wondering what language it was in. I posted it here, but he continued to peruse the site and found the city 'Budapest'. He jumped on Google and found a Hungarian to English dictionary and confirmed.

Also, I thought this would be a cool contest, I would scan the web for odd websites in languages we don't see often and we could guess, BUT I have since learned that the URLs have two (2) letter country codes embedded in them. For instance, this was www.mellesleg.hu/ .hu is Hungary. At least that's what I've been told. Ya learn somethin' new every day!

AWWW YEAH!!! What a lucky guess. I wish I knew about the URL thing. Would have made it easier! :) Yeah, I'm from the same area as Grau. Matter of fact, I work with the little lad.

I didn't know either. My Dad and I were throwing this around and he said, "Yaaa knoowww... I think there is a way to tell through the URL..." and he was right. Go figure. I thought it was cool, but honestly thought it was cooler you recognized it.

And!, obviously we have someone here who ACTUALLY speaks Hungarian! Welcome! I just need a translation. Hopefully what you wrote doesn't say something like, "Your blog sucks!" :-)

Jó napot kívánok, Boudicca!
(Hello ..... I hope!) I'm laughing about the comment posted above. Using your friend's idea about the online dictionary, I found it means "where's the toilet?" So you're safe blogwise. Unleeessssss.....

I told Grau tonight at work that the deciding factor that pushed me to choose Hungarian over Romanian was that I had a certain Monty Python sketch pop into my head! ( It overode the fact that it looked similar to the writing in my aunt's Bible. Sad, yes, but funny!)
